Welcome To Valley View!

On a small hilltop sits a growing church in the middle of a building project. Pastor Jere's church, Valley View Baptist, recently acquired property on which to build their facility and have set up this makeshift structure.

On the Sunday morning we were there, Tracy preached to the gathered assembly from Colossians 3:1-3. He has actually preached this same message at each student's church where he's
been. For 2010 he's crafting a different sermon from the story of
the prodigal son.

Worship at Pastor Jere's church is lively and uplifting. Several choirs, all of them parading in from the back, ministered to the people. During the service Tracy presented Pastor Jere with two baby blankets created by his mother, Sylvia Singleton. Pastor Jere and his wife had recently had a baby boy, a child of their old age.

Afterwards Tracy and I drove Abusa (pastor) and several children
through the Kalikiliki compound to visit the newborn. In their two-room house we were able to hold the new baby, a real cutie.

Will you pray for Valley View Baptist Church as they seek to raise funds for a cinder block structure? They are working hard to build it themselves. However, what they lack in structural beauty, they more than make up for it in inner beauty and delight in God. To learn more about Pastor Jere, visit AZM's pastors blog and
