Aunt Kathy

The picture at the left says it all--Aunt Kathy's place is the hub of activity in the Singleton family. Kathy, in the red shirt on the right, operates a bed and breakfast on the Carpenter farm in Sumner, MO. The Inn At Clover Hill will make sure your luncheons, dinners, weddings, and graduations receive a country and homey touch. This blog is not an advertisement for Kathy's business, it's an appeal for prayer for Tracy's only sister.

Two weeks ago the doctors diagnosed Kathy as having a rare form of cancer. A difficult surgical removal of the tumor, the duodenal operation, as well as chemotherapy, held out hope of prolonging her life. However, the doctors were only able to bypass the cancer by reattaching her small intestine to the stomach, then close her up.

As you can imagine, this has shaken the entire Singleton family. Kathy has a husband, Fred, and three grown children. Thirty-six hours ago Kathy began experiencing small blood clots entering her lungs. Because of this the doctors induced a coma and inserted a breathing tube. Tomorrow she will be awakened. Tracy and I would ask for prayer for her, her family, and the Singletons. We also need wisdom to know when we should return to the States to be with the family. Thank you so much for your prayers for Kathy.

Oh my! My thoughts and prayers are with you; that may sound like a worn out phrase, but it's quite true. Love & Blessings, Ruth
