If you've been with us since the beginning of our adventure, you'll remember that in December 2007 we shipped a container to Zambia with all of our worldly goods. In April 2008 I wrote a blog entitled, "CAXU 615362 8, Where Are You?" At that time we were anxiously awaiting its arrival as it was several months overdue. Since that time the red box has rested in our yard serving as storage, a workshop, and a changing room for our yard helper, Charles.
We've lived in the Makeni community for almost four years now~it's peaceful and relaxing here in our two-bedroom cottage. Recently, though, God dropped something in our laps that was too good to pass up.
A missionary house at the Baptist Theological Seminary (where I teach) has been vacant for almost a year, unknown to us. We thought it had been rented to someone when the former English teacher retired. For the same rental amount we will have more room; Tracy will have plenty of yard with which to be creative; I'll be closer to my students, having only a three-minute walk to class; and we'll be closer to AZ's training center for pastors.
So, why not move the container to our new address? Well, there are several reasons~it is quite a hassle; there's plenty of storage at the new place; it's costly to move a container clear across town (about 11 miles); and we needed the money. Oh, and did I say it was a hassle to move?
Enter Rick and Tracy Rempel, our neighbors, who just happened to need a container. Rick, chief pilot with Flying Mission, plans to build his own airplane and to store it in the box.
Although we won't be moving until the end of January, the Rempels needed the container before they leave on home assignment this month. So, yesterday was moving day for CAXU.
CAXU has a new home. What once rested in Mount Morris, IL, sailed the Atlantic Ocean, and now sits in Africa has served us well. All that's left are six concrete pads. A chapter in our lives has closed, another begins.

Wow, that really struck home for me for some reason! I am all nostalgic and stuff lately, I guess! Will we get to see you while you are one leave?
Bye, bye, Big Box, hello happy house! :-) Love you guys!
