August Rush, Part One

Conference Attenders

August is the best time for
conferences~the weather is pleasant and school is in recess for a month. This time there was another reason to hold two days of meetings~the founder of ACTION Zambia, Glenn Ripley, returned to the country for the first time since leaving in 2009.

Glenn and his wife, Liese, arrived in Zambia in 2002 and have always had a heart for pastors and educators. The conference gave Glenn an opportunity to teach as well as reconnect with his pastor friends. His ability to jump back into the culture and touch Zambians' lives is a gift and a blessing to observe.

Tracy Preaching Alongside His Interpretor
The conference's theme, The Gospel and Life Transformation, focused on how the gospel works practically in the life of the believer and how believers are changed into the image of Christ. Here in Zambia, sanctification can be a tough issue to get one's head and heart around. Some people even believe that once they are saved, they no longer sin.

Tracy preached on the first day, drawing from the story of the epileptic son's healing in Mark 9, to show how the gospel helps us to fight unbelief~"Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief!"

Also present was Pastor (Abusa) Bruce Gallaher from Crossroads Christian Church in Vacaville, CA. His church has sent several teams in the past to work with AZ. Getting to know him was truly delightful~such a humble man of God.

Although August has been a very busy month, it has been very rewarding. Stay tuned for "August Rush, Part Two"!
