Arrrrrrrrrr!

The day after my cataract surgery my oldest son, Micah, called to see how I was getting along. When he learned that the hospital sent me home with a patch on my eye, he burst out laughing. I asked him why he was laughing and he said that September 20th was National Pirates Day! Well, I had to laugh then. If I had known I would've played it up a little more. In my ignorance I was happy to just call myself a cyclops.

Everything went smoothly during the surgery. The doctor and staff even put flowers in my outpatient room. A nice touch. I also got flowers from Tracy--a real nice touch! When I went back the next day to get the patch removed and receive instructions for eyecare, the doctor tested my vision and said I had 20/20 in my left eye! I don't think I've had 20/20 since elementary school. How wonderful to see far away without glasses! Praise God!

Being told I had 20/20 made me wonder what in the world that actually means. Have you ever wondered that? I googled online and found out that 20/20 means that if I am standing 20 ft. away from something, I'm seeing what a person with normal vision would see 20 ft. away. My left eye used to be 20/100 or something like. What an improvement. A big thanks to all who prayed for me--God gave success!
