Bird, Bird, Glorious Bird!

Are you ready for the unveiling of the world's newest species of bird? Everyone had very interesting answers as to what kind of bird is pictured. The person who came the closest is our son, Micah, who actually questioned whether this was a real bird. So, we will name it the "Micah" bird.

Tracy had been clearing out some brush across the road and when he looked down, there was this root laying on the ground exactly as you see it here. In the first picture Tracy is pointing to its "beak" which has some green sprouts coming out of it.

Isn't this an amazing find? We're considering spray painting it, mounting it on a post, and using it for a lawn ornament. What do you think? Thanks to everyone who commented on this "ornithological" discovery. And, congratulations to Micah!
