Church In Garden

This past Sunday found us worshiping at the church of Cosmas Tembo, one of the APC students. Pictured at the left is Cosmas, Tracy, and Bruce Ingram, ACTION's International PLD Coordinator.

Worship was vibrant and full of joy. Being seated at the front of the church structure, common for special visitors, gave us a great view of the congregation, a good mix of men and women.

Where we were seated also gave me a view of the ceiling, or lack thereof. I found myself wondering what the people were going to do during the rainy season. Gaps dotted the tarps and plastic that served as a covering. The church had already saved money in order to put up three walls of cinder blocks to join the one wall of wood planks. Yet their joy in worship was unmatched by any I'd seen. The women blessed us with their dancing and songs of praise.

Visiting churches in the compounds keeps alive the reason we are here~to serve the poor pastors of Lusaka, pastors like Cosmas Tembo. Please pray for him as he continues his studies in APC and as he leads his flock in Garden compound.
