Nestled in a stand of trees in Sunlight Basin is a wooden plaque. On this plaque made from a tree trunk are the words from Psalm 121~"I will lift my eyes to the hills, from whence shall my help come? my help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth."
Ten years ago Tracy, our son Adam, Tracy's mother, and other family members came to this spot to bury Tracy's father's ashes. Sunlight basin was one of Richard Singleton's favorite spots. And it's easy to see why~there's a beautiful stream that runs nearby and the mountains are gorgeous.
Some time ago conservation workers came through and cut down trees, but they left this one standing. The ink is fading on the plaque I made in 2003, but we won't forget Dick Singleton, and that he loved the Lord and the mountains.
