Getting Ready

This Saturday the students of APC have a date with their wives. They will be escorting their spouses to APC's first Valentine's Day banquet

Zambians celebrate Valentine's Day, so it is familiar to them. When the holiday was first introduced to Zambia is anyone's guess. But stores are ready~red, pink, and white gifts, chocolates, and red roses crowd the shelves and aisles.
On Monday the men made a special Valentine's Day card for their wives, inviting them to the party this weekend. They stuck red, pink, and white hearts of various sizes on pieces of white paper. Inside they wrote their personal messages, wooing their wives for this special day.  A fresh rose accompanied the card, adding to the romance.

Held at a local restaurant that serves traditional food, the banquet will be from noon until 3 p.m. During that time, a three-course buffet meal will be served, allowing everyone to have their fill.
And, of course, what Valentine's Day banquet would be complete without a heart-shaped cake? In addition there will be a game, prizes, a special speaker, and a renewal of vows.

Would you pray with us that God would use this special occasion to encourage the husbands and wives in their marriage relationship? That marriages would be strengthened and refreshed? If this happens, this will be time and money well-spent!
