John Piper refers to prayer as a wartime walkie-talkie connected to the headquarters of our Commander-in-Chief. During this time of transition Tracy and I have deeply felt our need to depend on the Father. We have been praying more consistently and fervently as husband and wife. In addition we have yearned for God's people to be praying for us during this time. Believe with us this promise, "For from of old they have not heard nor perceived by ear, neither has the eye seen a God besides Thee who acts on behalf of the one who waits for Him." (Isaiah 64:4) Thank you for praying!
- Praise God that we are now at 25% of our total support level! God is good and faithful.
- Pray for upcoming preaching and sharing opportunities--the Shepherd Ev Free Church of Byron,IL, has asked Tracy to preach on July 29; on August 1st the Kiwanis of Mt. Morris will hear about our call; on August 5th we will visit the Ev Free Church of Sycamore-DeKalb, IL, the church we attended during our seminary days; in addition we will be at the First Baptist Church of Sycamore sometime in August for their missions fair. We are grateful for these opportunities. Please pray that our prayer and financial support base will increase as a result of these occasions.
- Pray that God would open up additional doors to cast the vision of our calling as Tracy makes phone contacts in the days ahead.
- Please pray for our children as they adjust to our leaving. May our remaining time together be sweet and full of precious memories.
- Please pray the God would give us wisdom about the multitudinous decisions about our earthly possessions.
