We had a "God thing" happen yesterday at a friend's Fourth of July celebration. With our son, Adam, and Neal's girlfriend, Jamie, we went to a potluck and then watched the parade from their front lawn. Also at the gathering was the mother of a friend of ours who was in town for the day. As we were folding up our lawn chairs she approached us and offered to support us. What a blessing and encouragement she was to us!God has also opened several doors in the past week and a half to share our calling to Africa. On June 25th we met with the missions ministry team of River Hills EFC, led by a friend of ours, Cherie. She and her husband, Ed, attended the same church we did when Tracy attended seminary. At our Perspectives missions class this past spring we reconnected with Cherie as she was in the class as well. God's "coincidences" are truly amazing. Our presentation went well and Cherie assured us that the church wishes to support us. Go, God! This past Tuesday night we traveled to Lena, IL, and shared our call with the missions committee of the Lena EFC. The missions team was genuinely interested in our calling and asked many interesting questions. Pray that the Lord would continue to open doors for us to share. Truly, "unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it." (Psalm 127:1)
