Do Missionaries Have Fun?
To celebrate Valentine's Day our team roamed Lusaka in a progressive dinner. Beginning in Makeni where the Hiltys and we live, the team enjoyed several types of hors d'oeuvres (starters) and soups. At the Hiltys we savored twice-baked mini potatoes and homemade pretzels that rival Auntie Anne's. Pictured here is the team at our house chowing down on corn chowder and pumpkin soups. While here we played a few rounds of "Battle of the Sexes", with males asking questions females might not know, and vice versa. Like, "Besides sugar, what other key ingredient does marzipan contain?" The guys lost on that one! Then, it was onward to the Roberts for salads and a game, the Allens' and Megan's for delicious steaks, potatoes, and green beans, and then onto the Whitfields for an assortment of desserts and a brain drain with Cranium. It was a great time being in each others' homes~good to laugh and sing together. As you can see, it's not always serious business with missionaries! And, this morning I received the greatest valentine's gift ever. My husband awoke early to restore our living room to its original condition and wash up all the dishes. Thanks, Trace! Happy Valentine's Day, everyone~
