An Update on Baby Nicholas

It has been a while since I've posted an update about Baby Nicholas. Well, he's not a baby any longer! He is no longer carried on the backs of the housemothers in a chitenge as often. At almost a year and a half old he is developmentally delayed. Although he is neither crawling or walking, Nicholas does have an interesting method of moving. If you stand in front of him and walk around him in a circle, he will follow your feet by scooting. With help he can also stand and walk. Usually very sober in his expressions, Nicholas will break into a big, toothy grin with his housemothers' antics.

At my last writing there was concern that he would not live. But, as you can see he has put on mass (weight), and thankfully, he is enrolled in the program, Tiny Tim's Friends. This clinic provides free care for children who are HIV positive as well as formula and bus fare for caretakers. Just so you can compare, I'm also posting a picture of him when he came to the orphanage in August 2008. What a difference! Praise God for His mercy to little Nicholas. And, thank you for your prayers.
