Because our time was limited in Sand Springs, Liana Deason and her daughter, Rebekah, hosted an open house for us. We were wonderfully surprised that over 25 people showed up. We all have a few more miles on us, but we are still recognizable!
with us. Doug and his son, Levi, drove four and a half hours to attend the open house. Doug and another friend, Glen, had visited us in Sycamore, IL, back in the late 80s when Tracy was in seminary. Doug and Glen have a neat cross cultural story from Chicago you'll want to ask them about someday.
The next morning Tracy shared our power point presentation with the Deasons' church family during Sunday school. Afterwards we went out for lunch with some of those same friends at Casa Bonita, our favorite spot when we lived in Tulsa.
After saying farewell we were on the road again to Muskogee to meet the people of Grace Bible Church, believers we had never met, yet who are partners with us in ministry. What an encouraging time with the people of GBC. Afterward, we enjoyed a time of fellowship and snacks. Pictured in the last picture from left to right are Donna, her husband, Pastor Brad, and friends we knew from our former church, Bob and Vivian Deevers. Bob and Vivian opened their home to us that evening and needless to say, we had a late evening!
