This sunrise reminds me that the Lord's mercies are new every morning. Tracy took this picture early yesterday, capturing God's creative work here in Missouri.
Because Tracy's sister is meeting with the oncologists today, his mother and I have most of the day off. After helping Kathy get ready for the appointments in Columbia, and doing some housework and laundry for her, I thought I'd write a blog and update everyone on how she's doing.
Kathy returned home last Wednesday, thankful to be back in her familiar surroundings. The flood of cards, meals, gifts, visitors, prayers, and flowers bears testimony to the love people have for her .Her mom and I have been team caretakers, splitting the day up into manageable shifts. Each day in the late afternoon Tracy spends time with his only sister for about an hour, praying with her each time and nurturing her hope in God.
As I've thought about Kathy, the Lord reminded me of Dorcas, a woman of faith in the early church who was "full of good works and acts of charity", especially towards widows. When Dorcas fell ill and died, there was a great outpouring of grief and lamentation. Through the Apostle Peter, the Lord raised her from the dead, giving her back to her friends. I've thought, "The Lord can do that again! He could raise Kathy up off of her sickbed. Look how many people she's helped [one pastor recently spent 15 minutes telling his congregation of the lives she's impacted through her service]--Lord, you could do it again! You could give her back to us in full health so that many would believe in You." Please join us in praying for Kathy.

Tracy and Karen, This brings tears to my eyes and I shall be praying for God to raise Kathy up off that sickbed that she might once again be a blessing to those she might minister to in Jesus' precious name. How comforting to her to have her loved ones gathered around her and praying for her. I know God will bless your ministry to her. Much love,
sharon
