Kim and Denisee

There's nothing like a reunion! The wives of Action Zambia's first graduating class reunited with the returning women's team from Twin Lakes Church in California. Shouts of joy and Zambian trills erupted as these thirteen women greeted each other. 

For the past two years TLC has sent a team of three to four women in July to host a conference for the wives of APC students. Because these wives' husbands had graduated this past November, I thought a reunion tea would be just what the doctor ordered for these hearts that have missed one another.

Scones, chocolate cake, and tea were on the menu after the ladies shared what God had been teaching them this past year. A constant thread in every one's life was that of trusting and depending on God in each circumstance. 

No reunion would be complete without singing, dancing, and gifts! After sharing prayer requests we celebrated in typical Zambian fashion with music and special moves. Kim, Rhonda, and Kristy then gave gifts of handbags and measuring cups, Kitchenaid ones, no less! It sounded like Christmas morning when the children were little when the presents were given.

APC Wives 2011 and TLC Team

One of the exciting things that has come out of the TLC team's time spent in Africa the past two years is that the APC wives decided among themselves to begin meeting monthly for fellowship. This has knitted their hearts together for life!
 
While these ten ladies were disappointed that they would not be attending this year's conference, they understood. It was bittersweet for them~they would be absent, but they knew that new wives were being trained and loved.
