New Digs

I lied. Yesterday I posted on Facebook that the guys were moving the training center for the fourth time in five years. It's actually the fifth time that APC has moved.

APC's first home was at the Baptist Building. Fifteen men, tables, and chairs crowded into a space smaller than our living room. The next center was a bit bigger, and a bit nicer in the same building. After making improvements to this facility, the rent was raised, forcing us to seek a different home.

What followed next was an undesirable situation in the heart of downtown Lusaka. Although it was cheaper, the location raised questions about one's welfare. Thankfully, we didn't stay there very long.

When we moved to our offices on Kasangula Road, we thought we had found our final resting place (at least in this life). Not to be. After almost two years of being there, it was discovered that a loan was taken out on the house without the owner's knowledge; the bank repossessed the house after the loan was defaulted upon; and the new owner decided to double the rent. On the road
again . . . .

Yesterday the guys moved APC to the International Baptist Church where the facility is housed. The Pastors Resource Center (PRC) will share the room pictured here with Frederick Bwalya, director of Veritas Colllege. Two students, Joseph and Emmanuel, helped us today to sort through books, organize and arrange them on the shelves, and tear down boxes. They were a great help. APC will hold classes in the sanctuary of the church; each Monday and Friday, the students will need to set up and tear down the tables and chairs.

We are grateful that the Lord has provided a new facility. It really is hard to understand why we've had to wander in the wilderness of rental space for the past five years. Maybe we're not supposed to get too comfortable. What we do know is that He has always paved the way for us, and He always has our back. May the glory of this fifth (and hopefully, last) training center be more glorious than the previous ones! Great things can happen, no matter where we are.
