Back in the Saddle

Last week English grammar class began again~so far the teacher and students like each other!

It's hard to believe this is my fifth year of teaching. In the past I've had as many as thirteen students, as few as four. Pictured from left to right are Jeremiah, Enock, Edinah, Leah, Stephen, and Josias. Not pictured here is Priscilla, a new student. All but two of these students live on campus.

As is the case with everything in Zambia, my class is more than about teaching~it's also about relationship. In addition to three hours of class, I hope to have these students in our home for a meal and conversation. On my daily walks I also interact with them. And, avocado season is on the horizon, so they will benefit from those lovely green fruits (or are they vegetables?).

Pray as these freshmen tackle grammar so that their Greek studies will be furthered. Pray that as their teacher, I will teach in such a way that will clear and helpful. And, please pray that our relationship will deepen.
