This past Wednesday we met with our church's missions ministry team to share our burden for Zambia. Tracy created a power-point presentation entitled, "The Top Ten Reasons To Do All That You Can To Get Us There As Soon As Possible". I thought he did such a good job on it, I just had to share it on the blogspot.
#10--Karen and I are not getting any younger!!!
# 9--Jesus said, "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a
testimony to the nations, and, then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14) Help speed the
coming of Jesus!
# 8--Lower the utility costs for the church parsonage after December 31st.
# 7--We will be able to shepherd a majority of the home-grown missionaries from our church.
# 6--The leadership needs of Action Zambia (AZ) are crying out for manager-type leaders who
can help grow the ministry.
# 5--When we leave there will be more morel mushrooms to go around here in Illinois. [We
promise to reveal all our favorite spots!]
# 4--We sense an urgency in our spirits to be in Zambia by January 2008.
# 3--The pastors of the Lusaka compounds are like sheep without shepherds. Be the answer to
your prayers and ours for the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers.
# 2--The churches of Zambia have grown wide like the Zambezi River during the rainy season,
but they need to grow deeper.
# 1--Pastor Austin and many more like him.
Pastor Austin, whom we met on our first trip to Zambia, is a pastor who shepherds the people of Venta, a squatters' village. Unable to afford training or purchase much-needed books, Pastor Austin appealed to our church in a video clip to send Tracy to teach and train the national pastors.
Please pray that God would thrust us out into the fields of Zambia as quickly as possible. Again, many thanks for your prayers on our behalf.
