Athletes and Artwork

Last Sunday I drove in to Chicago to visit our daughter and her husband. It was also the day of the Chicago Marathon, so I decided to wear the red shirt I wore in 2005, the year Audrey ran the race. It was a fun
reminder of a fabulous day. Pictured to the left is Audrey's support team, our family, two years ago. My shirt reads, "Audrey's Mother". Last Sunday it probably also should've read, "Keith's Mother-in-Law" as we watched his softball team win a double-header.

On Monday Audrey and I rode the train in to Chicago and visited the art institute. For me it was something I've wanted to do "one last time". We both love the impressionists, especially Monet and Renoir. Renoir, Audrey's favorite, painted this picture called Chrysanthemums. We also sat and gazed at Seurat's work Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte for quite some time. All those dots! Dot Seurat is what I call him! We both came away with a small print of each of these paintings as a souvenir of our time together. God truly gave us a sweet time together!

I love the impressionists too. When I go to the art museum, I just want to stay in that room the whole time! And prints don't do it - they are so much more fabulous in person.
