Last Saturday Tracy and I drove to Naperville to watch Adam's ultimate frisbee team play in the Glory Days Tournament. About twenty teams competed in the two-day event. As we approached the field where his team was hurling discs we heard a loud screaming~"Mom! Mom! Mom!" I suppose when you're the captain you can do just about anything. With us we had brought a pizza and homemade chocolate chip cookies which were devoured in seconds. Reminded us of sharks in a
feeding frenzy!Ultimate frisbee is an intense sport which has gained popularity over the
years. It's like football but is played with a frisbee. Little did we realize we
were watching the makings of a future surgery.
Adam had broken the pinkie on his left hand the Thursday before but
played in the tournament anyway. Well, playing couldn't have helped the
situation. By the following Wednesday Adam had to go to the clinic inJoliet where an orthopedic surgeon said it was broken in several places and would need some pins.
Yesterday he had outpatient surgery and the doctor said everything went
well. Before he underwent anesthetic we asked the nurse to find out what
really happened to our car. However, due to the privacy act we would not
be able to find out. Rats! Actually Adam hadn't done anything to the car~~we were just teasing.
Please pray for him as he's in a bit of pain, but, doing well.
