We learned yesterday morning that our five-year-old grandson, Jude, ran through a glass door Sunday afternoon. Although he suffered a severed tendon on his ankle and severe lacerations to his abdomen, the worst injury was to his face. His face sustained a deep cut from his ear almost to his mouth which required 40 stitches (Where does one even put 40 stitches on such a small face?). Glass had also become imbedded in his cheekbone. A facial nerve, as well as a salivary gland, had also been severed. Thank- fully, one of the hospital's best plastic surgeons was on call.
After two and a half hours of surgery, Jude spent the night in the hospital, with his Mama by his side. He came home from the hospital and is resting, looking forward to all the presents he's going to receive. At least his humor's intact!Praise God that Jude's life was spared~a number of scenarios could have played out. Please pray for this sweet little guy and his family. Pray that God would give grace and strength~that there would be no permanent damage~that God would knit his little body back together. Pray for us as it's hard to be away from them during this time of difficulty.

I'm praying!
karen,
we are so sorry to hear about Jude. We know first hand how hard it is to hear such things from so far away. Be assured of our prayers for him, for mom and dad and for you both.
in bonds of Christ,
Don and Gail
