Meet Pete

For the past ten days AZ has had the privilege of hosting Pete Williamson, a pastor from Bellingham, Washington near the Seattle area. He came to Zambia at our invitation to speak at an ACTION Zambia Pastors Conference. Pete did a great job preaching the Word and the pastors responded to his warm and personal style. He preached four messages on the theme of stewardship, joining with a Zambian pastor, Ron Kalifungwa, and three of AZ's missionaries who shared the platform with him over five days of conference meetings.

But Pete's testimony is that the greatest beneficiary of this trip was not the 130+ pastors who attended the conference. He says that this was a life changing trip for himself. Pete spent lots of time with Zambian pastors getting to know them and better understand the challenges they are facing. He visited some of them in their homes and preached in one compound church. He also mingled with them before and between the sessions. And, he says he is ready to come back and do it again.

We are really thankful to Pete, his family, and his church for loaning him to come help us build up church leadership in Lusaka. Pete also raised the funds needed to pay for this conference. We are excited about the new partnership that is developing between us. Did I mention that a young family from his church, Lord willing, will also be joining our AZ team in 2010? God is moving in many ways His wonders to perform and we give Him the praise for raising up laborers to help us in this ministry.
