The God of Surprises, Part II

Neal, Adam, Me, Audrey, and Keith
Last time I left you I had written about surprising Neal for Christmas in Chicago. We both flew out on the same flight bound for Pittsburgh, leaving Adam behind to work during the holidays. Or, so we thought.

Christmas morning I awoke needing a drink of water. I walked downstairs to the kitchen, noticing Keith on the couch. I figured he was guarding the cornucopia of gifts, making sure no one began opening presents before the appointed time. Neal was up as well getting water. After a few seconds I saw Neal and Keith hugging. My thought was, "Wow, a hearty Christmas hug." After getting my water I turned around to see a bearded face staring at me. It took a while, but it sank in that the guy before me was not Keith, but Adam! The stinker had driven through the night after working Christmas Eve, arriving in Pittsburgh at 3 a.m. Looks like he's a chip off the old block!
