There's No Place Like Gnome

Yesterday we took our gnome to the Evangelical Free Church of Sycamore-DeKalb. Thought you might like to see a close-up of the little guy. He had his picture taken with two friends from that church, Diane and Paul.

God answered our prayers and was with us. In addition to having a wonderful time worshipping with old friends, we both felt like Tracy's sermon and presentation went well. During the Sunday School hour with the adults there were a lot of interesting and thought-provoking questions. Quite a number of people stopped by our display with many encouraging words. Ten new people signed up to receive our prayer letter.
We were especially encouraged to see that this church had added our names to their prayer sheet for missionaries and will be praying for us each month.

Afterwards Tracy and I lingered in DeKalb by going out to lunch and seeing the movie, "Bourne Ultimatum". And, what trip to that area would be complete without a stop at Ollie's Frozen Custard? Armed with two spoons we made quite a dent in a quart of black raspberry.Making memories! Yum!

A friend of ours has given the gnome the name of "iNkosi ungumngane" which is Zulu for "God, He is a friend." Not sure how to pronounce it, but, the meaning is rich! Thanks, Barry. And, thanks to everyone who prayed about yesterday.
