"Gramma, I missed you," were some of the first words out of my grandson's mouth. Jude uttered these words as we were building a tent out of a blanket strung from his bed to Soren's crib. He arranged a gazillion stuffed animals in a circle, giving a lot of thought to what we would feed them.At the end of July I flew to see my son, Micah, and his wife, Marie,
and their three sons. It was a very sweet time with them and was the first time seeing their newest addition, Soren. Soren cries only when he needs something--a burp, clean pants, or milk. His smile is endearing!
With the water calm, Gramma Seahorse gave rides all around. And, we managed to drink our fair share of seawater. Atticus and I tried to dig a hole to China, but,
we didn't get very far. A seagull snatched part of Atty's peanut butter andjelly sandwich, much to his shock and chagrin.
We went to the beach one other day, but, I mostly helped them with the boys so Micah and Marie could have some alone time. As the children in their class were hanging onto the side of the pool, I saw Jude interact
with a little girl. Apparently he had done what he thought was an impres-sive swimming move. Either the little girl disapproved or was not fazed by
his stunt. Jude pointed his index finger in her face and said, "I'm a flipper diver!" You had to have been there. It was hilarious!
I give thanks to God for my children and grandchildren. They truly are a gift of the Lord's. What a wonderful time the Lord gave us!
