O, Christmas Tree!

Yesterday we went to Poe's Tree Farm on the edge of town to cut down our Christmas tree. Armed with saw and measuring stick we tromped through the crunchy snow searching for the perfect tree. Spruce of pine? There were more spruce than pine so we picked out a nice plump spruce, about 6 ft. tall. What a fragrance it has! Adam cut it down and together Tracy and he dragged it to the car.

Cutting down our own tree each year has been a tradition since Micah was five years old. In Oklahoma they were plentiful and could be found by the side of the road. I'll miss this Christmas tradition. Since there probably are no pine trees in Africa, I'm keeping my eyes out for an artificial tree to take with us. Know of any? Or maybe we should use an acacia or baobob tree!
