Difficult Goodbyes

This past Sunday we said our goodbyes to our church family. Two of our children and our son-in-law were able to be there. The day began with a celebration of grace, a recounting of what God had done in the past six months. Almost a year ago we had announced to our family and friends that God was calling us to Zambia. From the beginning we felt an urgency to be in Africa by this month. And, look what God has done!

After a wonderful time of worship we met in the fellowship hall for lunch, sharing, and goodbyes. Our friend, Joyce, presented us with a gift box that contained a lock of Molly's fur (see blog before this one). Two ladies, Sue and Mary, presented us with a treasure--a quilted wall hanging that holds the signatures of families in our church. In the center is a cross-stitch of Psalm 95:7, "For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under His care." What a treasure! Thank you, EFCMM!
