On Fridays we spend two hours studying the language with Liese, Glen’s wife. Besides translating English to Nyanja and vice versa, we’re memorizing the children’s catechism questions in the vernacular. Here’s a sample:
Question: Who is God? (Kodi Mulungu ndi ndani?)
Answer: God is a spirit and has not a body like men. (Mulungu ndiye mzimu ndipo alibe thupi monga ya ife anthu.)
Those who grew up learning phonics will have an easier time with this as the language has only been written down for about 100 years and is very phonetic in spelling.

yeah, I was kinda wondering the same thing...what are you guys doing? Vacationing? Practicing hobbies?
I'm sure you are patiently waiting on your apt. to be finished. Good to be able to keep up with your journey to Zambia. Janette sent me the link, and I read through EVERYTHING, and then forwarded the link to Jessica Lewis-Sosa and Annette, I thought they would enjoy it. I went to Jessica's wedding in Polo, it was beautiful. I met her through a friend from school, Liz Martinez is her sister, so we ended up played co-ed softball and volleyball together in Oregon.
I do remember the snow giant, that was neat!! The snow is still here, we had a snowstorm and then ice, so it's not snow piles, it's ice piles that are still lingering...
Your neighbor in Christ!
ps-Balto misses you!! :D
