Grace, Katherine, and Abigail

This morning I had three visitors that live in Makeni~Grace, Katherine, and Abigail. They stopped by to greet me and I invited them in for tea. Grace (on the left) is the niece of Katherine's husband, Mr. Sinkhala. Currently she lives with the Sinkhalas but is engaged to be married. When Tracy and I walk, we pass by Katherine's house, oftentimes learning new Nyanja phrases and words from her.

As we talked I found out that Katherine is a Seventh Day Adventist while Grace is a member of the United Church of Zambia. I had noticed when walking to church on Sunday that Katherine would be outside doing laundry, since she goes to church on Saturday. As we had tea and crackers the conversation naturally led to talking about the Bible. When I asked if they would be interested in studying the Bible together they heartily approved. They are interested in studying about spiritual growth as well as the Old Testament. After they left I walked to Andrea Hilty's house to let her know that her suggestion to begin a Bible study in Makeni had born fruit. Several months ago Andrea had expressed hope that we could start such a study. Please pray for Andrea and I as we partner in this venture~that God would give us wisdom and insight, that there would be spiritual fruit as a result.
