IC Day Three

Wednesday the schedule allowed for a break. Delegates could either go to the beach or to the city. Since it was an all-day affair and I'm a "few hours at the beach" kind of gal, Tracy and I went into Sao Paulo, city to over 11 million people.

At the top of this lookout the city of Sao Paulo sprawls out as far as the eye can see.
Underneath the observation deck Don Quixote obliged us by posing in this photo. He still looks dashing, don't you think?

We almost lost one of our team members at this point. I wasn't too concerned as he speaks Spanish fluently and could navigate his way around. Fortunately, he joined us before leaving the building.

All of us then took our separate ways to the various shopping spots. With Susanna as our guide we walked along a street that was flooded with shop after shop. Vendors also lined the cobblestone street with their various wares. A person can find anything along this street~costume jewelry (tons of it!), sandals, kitchenware, sunglasses, wigs . . . you name it! One huge bazaar!

Since I had a mission on this trip, our host kindly drove us to a mall where we could get a Starbucks fix. I collect 'bucks city/country mugs and had to get one.

For supper we went to a restaurant called, Churrascaria. Meats of every kind and cut were brought to our table where they were carved off of the rotisserie spit~musk ox, lamb, pork, and chicken. While we ate various salads and side dishes, waiters approached us every few minutes with a new variety of meat. The meal was a wonderful cultural experience!
