Meet some of the children from the orphanage here at Makeni. The children are playing a game similiar to "jacks" but they use stones for the ball as well as the jacks. When I asked them how many rocks they use one of the girl said however many they want to use. The playing field is a large circle drawn on the concrete.
Mrs. Dil and I walked to the see the children today to ask about my reading to the children a few nights per week. After speaking with
the gentleman that is reading Scripture to the children each

evening it was decided I would read to them Tuesday and Thursday nights. My intention is to read them a short story, share a story from the Bible, pray with them, and then tuck them into their beds. I am really looking forward to this and pray that God will use this time in the lives of the children.
This second picture shows half of the washing that was drying outside at the orphanage today. How would you like this much laundry?

Hello, Tracy and Karen.
What a wonderful idea you have--spending quality time with the orphan children! I can see it all. I'm wondering if you'll go from home to home or if you'll meet maybe in the dining area for stories and prayer and then tuck them in at their beds. This ministry fits you perfectly, Karen. I miss being with you in Zambia!
Love, Mary
