A Virtual Tour, Part I

Since our container has arrived and we have most things reasonably in place I thought it good to give you a virtual tour of our new house. The first picture shows our cozy cottage as you're approaching from the west. On the right you see our hedge and behind the hedge is our garden. We've planted onions, tomatoes, strawberries, lettuce (which is finished), beets, and squash. Our pumpkin didn't do so well, though. Derek, the security guard for one of the houses, waters our garden and plants a few hours each day. This frees Tracy and I up to do other things. The two windows you see at the back of the house are to our bedrooms. The farthest one is for our bedroom, the nearest is for our guest/study room.

If you walk between the hedge and the house and then turn left you'll find yourself at what we call the front of the house. Adam called it the back door, we call it our front door. An interesting note here~in order to install our lighting the workers had to peel back the front left corner of our roof. If you look in the window to the left, you'll peer into our living (I mean sitting) room. To the right of our front door is the window to our kitchen. Further to the right is our laundry room which was added onto the house for us. Last weekend Tracy and I put in the flowerbed you see below the living room window. Tomorrow we are hoping to put a flowerbed in on the other side of the door. You can see the water pipes to the kitchen sink and washing machine on the outside, a common practice. As you enter our front door the first thing you see is our dining room. Thankfully, Mrs. Dil has loaned us her table and chairs for the time being. To the right is the doorway leading into the kitchen. The door straight ahead takes you to a hallway which will take you to our bedrooms and bath. I'll continue the virtual tour in Part II.
