Home Assignment--Seattle
God parted the volcanic ash cloud over Europe just in time for us to arrive leave Africa. We truly felt a sense of His mercy as we left Johannesburg on a flight packed with the last of stranded passengers. Arriving in Seattle on Tuesday of last week for a visit to the home office, we were hosted by Rex and Donna Carlaw for the night. They live on a peninsula on Puget Sound, and the ferry ride to their house was a delight. We spent a delightful evening and morning with them; truly grateful for their hospitality.
The next day we returned to the mainland (saw a school of dolphins in the bay) and spent the day at the ACTION USA office. Staff members greeted us warmly and provided a delicious salad bar for lunch.Team-mates, Kelly and Tricia Huckaby, and friends, Pete and Cheryl Williamson, also welcomed us to the States. During chapel in the afternoon, Tracy shared about our ministry in Zambia with a power point presentation.
That evening we were taken to a hotel for the night and treated to supper at Wally's, a great fish place. I've never tasted such wonderful clam chowder in all my life!
Bright and early the next morning (3 a.m.), we rose to catch our flight out of Seattle. God provided the most wonderful attendant at the airport (Sujan, from Fiji), who began his job ten minutes early in order to check in our bags. What a work ethic at 4:20 a.m.!
Waiting in the Seattle airport, we couldn't resist a stop at the Bux and a purchase of USA Today! Next stop, Chicago!

Glad to see you updating your blog. It was a pleasure to have you both stop by the ACTION USA office. And what a great Powerpoint presentation! Concise, informative, and encouraging. May the Lord bless you in your upcoming meetings. Brian Stewart
Thank you for coming to see us. You have a home on the Kitsap Peninsula when you need it. Our house is yours.
Thank you for the cute flat gifts, too.
